Assuming you have everything off , Then seethe above , BUT before you do that , and if you have time , if you can soak the area in kero /oil mix ( penetrating oil , proper penetrating oil not just water dispersal 40th try WD40, )
then wipe it off , ie try and remove all the kero ,,, as the next step may prove interesting , ,,,,Heat the bearings , if you can get just the bearings but not spindle warm thats fine , it helps but is not so important, as if the spacer is siezed then heating the spindle doesnt help.
get the nut so that its flush with the spindle support the other side securely . ....and with a FU$$%&'' big hammer ( if you have a press that is big enough try that first ,,,) with the big hammer give it an " experienced luv tap "
you will stuff the nut , BUT you will save the spindle ....
time is your friend , soak , heat , repeat , soak heat ,,,,, ( in the shop as soaking isnt costing my time its free ,,so soak heat try a luv tap .........)
if all else fails BIG MOTHER$%&'( of a hammer and BELT THE FUC%&'r )
Stephen
good luck
