    RGV250 parts enquiry

Hi there I'm new to the forums been riding bikes for a good 10 years mostly dirt, i recently traded a $300 electric guitar i had sitting under my bed to a mate for his 1989 rgv250 he had sitting in his garage crazy deal i know, The only problem with it is that the rings on one of the pistons is buggered, i have decided to rebuild the top end and was wondering if anyone out there knows of a good suppler of rgv parts within NZ. pistons/rings/gaskets..etc

    Thanks

    Ben

p.s will post pictures of the bike when i get my camera working.

RGV parts are really something to get from the UK, or direct from hong kong but yeah ya gotta speak the local toungue lol

Other than than ask a question to wheelie_087 on trademe, a mate of mine who can possibly get you what you need.

Dude, best deal ever BTW lol

Why don't you just walk into the Suzuki dealer in Nelson and order the parts? RGV bits are a piece of piss to come by.

I got my piston kits (Wiseco Race) from the US. Forget what they cost and where I got them from but after extensive research they were the cheapest source I could find and under 1/2 price of what it would've cost locally.

I have a race RGV250 '89 K which I've been trying to sell (well not really but don't let the missus hear that) but would rather get it back on the road. If yours has complete fairings and electrics then maybe we can do a deal if you're interested.

As has been mentioned before, DON'T go through your local dealer.

Hoon is the guy with the right idea here, it's FAR cheaper to get the stuff online. You'd be very, very surprised with how cheap you can get the stuff online. Very quick, and straight to your door.

try risingsunmotorcycles.com they are absolutely great. Don't forget to get the part numbers before hand.

Buying from USA isn't wise at the moment though...

anywhere else not so much of a problem.

thanks for all your help guys took the head off the other day the rings, pistons and bearings look fine, later realized the the reason why i think it wasint running properly is that one of the needle valves was snapped in half sitting in the bottom of the carb (running way!! to rich), does anyone have one floating around spare the i could purchase off. Thanks

As has been mentioned already www.rgv250.co.uk there is NO better source of info
    on rgv's on the web.
dont let the fact that its uk based put you off, there are plenty of kiwi members
it has its own online shop and prices for postage wont kill you.
