If you want a bike that's cheap to own - you buy a bike that's cheap to own,not a bike that's NOT cheap to own,and then have the audacity to complain about it! You'd be better off complaining about why the fuck did I buy this bike that's so expensive to maintain. Then sell it and buy a bike that's cheap to run. Then you can stop moaning and have some fun on a cheap bike.

Had 12000km service done couple days ago, read the invoice(still under warranty)check this, that etc, adjust carbs, wtf it's FI,but best part was check tyre pressures should be 36 front, checked it today cold and 40psi,nothing much you say but I checked them day before and knew it was 40psi,hate that when it is said check /replace and haven't done that, makes me wonder if the plugs have been replaced lol.

Clutch spring...if it been left it would have been spat around and I could have ended on the road so just as well I took it to a bike shop for the WOF...coost around $500 and I can pay it off....

I know the tyres were due and the rear disc may be ?...I am a rear braker so 4 pads etc means I give it a lot of stick...so the clutch was the only real extra....

Got an RF900 courtesy bike and it will be sorted today so Colemans done good

Ahh, my TGB101s scooter is what you need.

It only costs pennys to run, 43000km to date and has needed 2 tyres and a handful of spark plugs over and above its fuel.

Ooops it also needed a pinch bar through the baffles to make it sound like a harley, but that only cost blood like anything involving me and heavy tools.

$77 a year rego, no WOFs and +80mpg.

Could swap if you do cash difference.. ?

Should have bought a Ducati. Mine has done more kms than than yours and still has original clutch bits and brake discs.

The wee 600 doesn't chew chains or tyres as fast as a thou' either.

Of course, your bike does go faster than mine.....

    But.. but..
Whoever said bikes were cheap transport? Mebbe a smallish communter bike or scooter, but my bike's an expensive toy.
Costs? I dunno - never keep track of them.
    Hmmmmm.... lesseeeee.....

Tyres about $550-$600 every eighteen months or so, oil change every six months $45, filter every 12 months $20, chain'n'sprockets every few years, $350. Battery every five years $150 or so. Some brake fluid here'n'there, new pads whenever.
That's about it, unless I break summat or want some bling.

Worse bit's the gear: boots ($450), helmet ($450), jacket ($700-$1000), pants ($550), gloves $150-$200 every few years.

But what else am I gonna spend my money on? I don't do pubbing'n'clubbing, don't smoke, don't go to movies, don't buy magazines, don't really have a life. Vifferbabe makes up for that with her travel bug, I guess. Now THAT'S some expensive transport!
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

I had to quit the smokes to afford the bike. It was either that or sell the children and the missus wouldn't let me.
