You can't get a big bore ktm as a road bike so you can still adeventure on it? or will you keep the other bikes for that.
Keep the KTM and shelve it, do it up and give it a great big spruce up when the money comes, if it ever does. I want to get the tank painted and have a look at the electrics.
It seems the bike should be in the south Island as it would be suited there, mind you I do love it, it needs good tyres as the knobblies are a bit harsh for the bike, as they do wear out fast. I keep spitting up stones at the buys behind so should look at some Scorpions or similar.
I have the Husaberg which has the long range tank on it, good bike, goes very well and is very capable.
The seat is a tad hard but I could get it padded out a bit more I suppose.
Don't get me wrong, the 640A is the dogs bollocks, I wouldn't mind two of them in the garage.....

The TRX and TDM 850 motors will slot in with a couple of minor bits of work - oil tank is remote on the tenere's rather than on top of the gearbox and one bolt needs much of its head ground off. The TDM900 motor will apparently fit but they need a heap of work to get them to fit.

I get the impression that the XTZ's have a better suspension concept/design than the PD's but they need a good shock and possibly a WR450 front end.

Wicked to know there is so much knowledge out there...
Where in the hell did you get that
Sometimes we just throw things out there and Wham! along comes someone who really does know stuff.....
Thanks for that, I knew it could be done but was unsure. The next thing of course would be once...

    a. You get the bike
    b. You really need to steal a TDM as there won't be any wrecked any time soon...
    c. They are nice bikes in their own right.

Knock yourselves out - http://www.xtz750.com/ Far far to much info on there but if you search hard enough you'll find plenty on engine conversions. The gurus are Jenna and Kymmy the girls - yes girls - from Raid Extreme a firm that builds gear for rally raids.
