Get the CR!!! KDX is ok, but it will bore you in about 2 weeks of riding it.
I now await stories about blah blah won some race on one out of the box blah blah.
A 125 is a bit too small for you.
I know this guy who had a kdx and he won etc..... j/k.
If you're wanting to do MX then don't get a kdx, get a MX bike.
I've had my kdx for > 2 weeks now and I'm not bored with it yet. Crazy huh!
pretty sure all 89-94 kdxs were available with usd forks most had blue forks check the steering head of the frame to confirm if its a kdx frame or kx a kdx frame will have dx............ for the serial number a kx somthing different probably kx.......... but nt sure on the kx num

Hey every now and again I get riders on my rides with KDXs- great little bikes but they have those damn forks and they get hung up in the rutted out sections and I mean really hung up!
If you ride in heavily ridden areas consider this cos I see guys going over the bars when they follow me into the slots![]()
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......
Thanks so far guys. Am learning a lot.. I wont be racing, just spirited trail rides with mates etc.. (I say that now, who knows in 6 months time haha)
Been looking round at KDX's so should have 1 of my cars sold soon then I can get out there and buy one![]()
Cave weta you mean the upside down forks? I dont plan on riding in forests too much. I think most of the rides round canterbury are trails or riverbeds..
Keep your eyes out for a YZ250 you should be able to find one around your price range. The most fun Ive had on a two stoke was on a YZ
Just to bring this back up..
I had a ride on a 97 KX250 on friday, power or what it was amazing on pipe. It spat the current owner off quite badly on a forest run so def had to be careful haha
Sooo my search continues KDX is still a thought but am now entertaining CR YZ RM and KX 250's as well
Ride it till reds RM sounds quite good Hrmmm
Last week I finally took the dive..
Ended up with a 2005 KDX200, PC rev pipe and PC exhaust. Great service history and bike is in very tidy condition.
Many thanks to all those that suggested the KDX, suits my needs down to the ground. Took it out to mcleans island on sunday and all the old memories came flooding back.
Cant wait for summer rides now!
Good on ya mate, looks tidy .. enjoy.
