No far from it. I am more than willing to admit I will always having somthing to learn, as with everything in life. You on the other hand obviously do and love to post on every thread telling us all about it, maybe you could teach me, master. You of infinite wisdom who never makes a fucking mistake, see I admit I fucked up, wasn't paying as much attention to my surroundings as I should have been (maybe you could instruct me on how you manage to never drop concentration even for second?), I only had about 5 metres to stop so I panicked and locked my back wheel, I don’t expect you to understand this as obviously men of steel such as yourself never break a sweat.
Think the point he was making was more toward the fact you slammed the back brake on, not the lack of concentration ! Though that is gonna burn ya one day !
Only Jay lawrence uses his back brakes, sure it looks cool going sideways into a corner but not sideways into a car that caught you unawares !
Think i've just gone through my third set of front pads since i last changed my back ones !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Is who's to blame really important when you're lying in the middle of the road with a broken bike and possibly pelvis? as she drives away blissfully unaware of the carnage she created?......... never let your guard down, and ALWAYS! ride like no one can see you. I know it can piss you off at times, but honestly mate, its going to happen, again and again and again...........

hehe.... nah, no one is perfect.... me!? far from it!! I may have reacted the same way as you. People can give you all kinds of advice on here about how to avoid this kind of thing but, until you've actually had an "in ya face" kind of fright! most of it can sound like a lecture. Often we need a little panic moment to wake us up a bit.

Come on folks...who hasn't been giving out happy thank you waves to cars when they move over AND stand up all you punks that have been kicking in side mirrors?!

Seriously though - it does seem to me that Wellington drivers have become more testy, impatient and much much less considerate of late. Unless it's just that I actually notice it all more because I am riding more defensively and actually paying more attention than I used to

Do I? I thought every second thread was burning a non-waver. I'll have to work on that.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

It's possibly that they are getting sooo pissed off with the neverending roadworks on the Hutt road, and the way they cone off a kilometer of lane for a whole day to allow for a bit of work on the side of the road, and the fact thats there is fuck-all parking in the CBD within two blocks of where you want to park, and if you do find a park then the predatory parking wardens who ticket your car for five minutes over time or the bastard Wilsons parking operatives if you DO try and leave your car off road, and...stuff like that
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    Feel the loveeee baby

    So options are:
    1. Keep it to yourself.
    2. Post it on KB and get flamed.
    3. Pay the cager respect with finger and knuckles on wing mirror.
    4. None of the above. I'll go cry in a corner on Dririder's lap.

I'm just kidding. They're just probably in a hurry to go somewhere. And people will always flame you for no reason. So should you. Heck, even John Key will flame and make fun of you if he sees this thread. Nice for sharing with us though. RESPECT people

Actually that about the road works is a good point. Though I'm noticing the blocking filterers thing on the gorge more so than anywhere else. Used to be that MANY MANY cars would be quite happy to pull away from the centreline to make room. I have had heaps more cars 'seemingly on purpose' move into the centre line to block bikes...either that or they are actually just weaving all over the road like rebels without a clue. Either way it has made me filter even more slowly than usual

    Option 1 !
How many times has someone posted on here saying a cager switched lanes and near took me out ?
It is going to happen ! Drivers (you and i, him and her, they and them) are going to miss seeing a bike 5 metres behind and to the side, simply because they are not looking for you ! They are looking for a car grille, a bonnet, a truck and a bike just dont register in that split second glance they took !
    Option 2 !
Yep yr sure as hell gonna get flamed for admitting you rode in someones blindspot and didn't see that they were likely to switch lanes and then admit to locking the back brake ! Then post it on HERE !
Though i did'nt really see it as a flaming, more of a "lol you did what, with which brake" !
    Option 3 !
Why would you ? It aint their fault you rode in their blind spot and started humming ! That behaviour would only entice drivers to squeeze out bikes as #1 said !
    Option 4 ? Is she cute ?
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Nope...it's just that 'us ancients' are well-used to the Spanish Inquisition.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
