Two different mates had the two major components in their sheds doing stuff all. I haven't had a dirtbike for ten years or so. Recently I brought a XR600RE cheap but the more it stared at me in the shed the more I knew it was planning to kill me. So the 600's gone and this is in its place.
1988 CR125 rolling chassis and a 1987-88 KDX200C2 engine.
started by stripping the CR down and have slotted the KDX in. next will be to cut all the cr engine mounts and weld new ones.
This is going to take a while and will be a work in progress, more as funds become avaliable. Its going to need tyres, chains and sprockets, fork seals, wheel bearings. But for now I'm working on getting the engine mounted in the frame.
Any good ideas on what chains and sprockets, tryes etc to run where to get them from. I don't want to blow the budget but I do want reasonable quality. The bike hopefully will come up "tidy" with a full ground uprebuild (bearings seals etc) the motor is in good nick, but I'll probally throw a piston and ring at it.
