Ventura pack racks. Top stuff

Recently whilst travelling I lost the securing bolts for my back rack as I forgot to do them up tight before riding. As they're quite a one-off design I was kicking myself as I didn't think I was going to be able to get a replacement for them.

I decided to email Mark from Ventura-Bike.com who was more than happy to help. Not only did he know exactly what I was talking about he offered to courier me the replacement screws for free, and wouldn't even take payment I offered.

Absolutely amazing. Not only will I have my replacement screws for the pack rack, but I will definitely be returning to Ventura to order the rack system for my new bike when I get it. If you're looking for a bike rack, I suggest you do the same and check them out.

I have a powdercoated Ventura rack on my Shiver. So far, so good. But based on personal experience, I'd never buy their chromed racks. I'd prefer to buy a pile of rust and cut out the middle man.

interesting: I had one on my CB400F that was at least 20 and possibly closer to 30 years old that was fine. Maybe newer ones have less good-er QC?

I suspect that in days of yore, more chrome was applied to better quality metal.

I got one of their "seat bags" since I didn't want a bloody great rack stickin' up at the back. Best purchase I ever made...amazing what a bit of brute force and ignorance can fit in one of those...oh and they do zip out bigger too, come to think of it...

I use mine to ride to work with, and store my gear in while I'm at work. It fits my cordura jacket, boots, gloves and cordura pants with room for another set of pants just in case I get wet.

Touching story, Anarkist. It got me off my arse to do something about the 10mm nickel-coated bolt that has graced the left rack leg for quite awhile. 5 Star Suzuki had one in a drawer. $nadda. Ta muckly.
