Agreed.
Signed up my car with AMI-1991 Honda civic (stock) when I was 20 (back in 2003), lady was rude, wouldnt insure it for theft, only gave 3rd party option (but that was all I wanted) laughed in my face when i asked if my flatmate could be included to drive the car. Took insurance anyways cos needed it as was over christmas, got a car alarm put in it the next day. After christmas went in and saw state who allowed me to have anyone drive the car and discounts for being a good driver straight away. Went back and cancelled my policy with AMI (within 10 days-full refund) when the same lady asked why I was cancelling I told her that she had been a rude cow and I got a better deal with the compertition.
When Phoenix started riding we insured the bike with State as well. First crash, not phoenixs fault (hit by stolen car) had to pay excess, bike written off, said they would cover the helmet then said they wouldnt, then said they would, then said they wouldnt. Laid formal complaint about there attitude and a few other things. GOt nowhere so moved all the insurance to Tower.
Phoenix gets the ZX6R, decide to go through kiwibike. I got the bandit so we sent that there as well. Phoenix has a crash which he was given a infringement for, which was droped as the other lady was at fault, but we still had to pay the $1000 excess. Lots of dealings with Dave over that one. Phoenix turns 25, the renewal comes along, cost $900 to insure and $1000 excess, the same as before he turned 25. Told them to get fucked.
Now with David Golightly (through Vero) ZX6R insured for $375 a year with a $250 excess. The SV is also with Vero now too.
I would like to say that Tower has been great. Chick crashed into our car and they were really good. I have also had a run in with a car and they were really good about that too. THey dont like insuring motorbikes so the costs with them can be higher but thats cool.
But overall insurance sucks! We pay money to them so that things are covered when we crash but as soon as we do crash they treat you like crap. I know I have paid more in insurance than I have claimed.
