Alan Cathcart has given the pre production bike good wraps in motorcycle trader.
Still not my cup of English tea, but ya got to give Triumph kudos by again doing things "their" way. ie, not knocking out another V Twin clone cruiser like every other fecker.

You can have one of these for $27,000 on the road. Worth a test ride before you commit to the Triumph.

    Oh man

That Triumph makes me feel funny...

"...like when we used to climb the ropes in gym class...."

    ;o)

Roll on full license... so many nice cruisers...

Hey Molly, great photos. They all look great when they are clean and shiney.

I think that Triumph has the trusted marque new bike image over HD at the moment.

I frequent AMPS to perve over the new bikes and I must say that I don't believe that HD have received just credit for their great styling improvements over the past few years. Triumph do very well in the USA. I recon it is a lot to do with the English sounding name and their perceived class status. A Kawasaki, however good will never be able to achieve the same. Also, it is the perceived old against new and improved. It is a bit like BMW in Germany. Triumph's sell loads in Germany there for similar reasons.

At around $25k the T-Bird looks a bit too pricey to me. Like with my Tiger; wait for the NZ$/US$ to go back to >80c and then import one :-)

It won't be under $20k as pointed out earlier. It's $US1200 dearer than the S3 and that's $20k here.

Just going on the ops guesstimate of $18-$20k nz but around the 20 mark is still good and I'm still interested, $23 ish and up and it will have to compete with several Harleys. That will make it a tougher call for me.

    Time will tell eh.

I've ordered mine, Street n Sport told me 22K - 24K, but will ultimately depend on exchange rate at the time. The extras are what's worrying to think about (aftermarket pipes? & other goodies). Anti lock brakes are another option to consider, and I hear they will have a 1700cc kit (not to mention the dozens of chrome add ons)

I have a mate in Dunsandel that makes polished stainless steel racks, saddlebag supports, crash bars etc. (mostly) for Triumphs. He sells shitloads into the US and Europe and undercuts Triumph on their overpriced chrome tat. If you go with this bike and want some tig welded QUALITY parts making up, I'll put you in touch.

sounds good, my current Triumph has some non original pannier rails which I bought through the local dealer. I think they were made locally, but not sure where.

He usually sells direct rather than through dealers as far as I know so doubt yours will be from his workshop. He did say he wanted to start making them for the America / Speedmaster range and was going to borrow one to get that underway.

Do they have spares? thought they'd all pre-sold.
