Was watchin CNN the other morning and they said that 1.3 billion people flew on comercial airlines last year and only 430 odd people died - the lowest since 1945 (go figure - 1945 was a safe year).
Anyhow, that turns out to be something like 1 in 10 million for your chances of being turned into some kind of fertilizer - or something like that.
What was interesting was the total road deaths in NZ was abou 430 odd as well (hence I noticed the article coz the number rang a bell).
But the popn. of Nz is only 3.99mil so thats about 1 in 9,000.
That suggests to me that if you want to travel anywhere in New Zealand .... FLY with a commercial airline![]()
