Two more sleeps, then DJ's 'Outta Hair' (like a Brazilian!)

Can't belive it, no matter how hard I try, I cannot get everything done!

First thing tomorrow, me & 'darkie'( my 990 Adv) head to Orks to deposit her to Qantas airfreight, then stay a nite with the Bass man, then 0730 wednesday its on the big red bird over to the big red land!

By 2100( our time) I will be on the ground in Perth, go buy a fone, see RACWA re insurance then bed down at YHA. Early next morning( I should awake bout 0100 local) its off to Qantas to see if Darkie is there(?), customs, then AQIS( hopefully), then get a temporary permit to ride to exam station and get checked for overseas vehicle permit and CTP( Whew, will be tired by then!!) and away north to Moora for 3 months driving fert spreaders and tractor drawn seeders( with some(?) adventure rides if I can get a day off?).

Wife joins me in June at end of my contract, then we go North!( Pilbara and Kimberleys)...can't wait!

    Gotta go now....waterpipe to fix!!!

Like to say I'll miss ya's.......but........................

Whats freight etc costing to get the bike there?

When you get there can you update with your experiences on shipping?

I'm interested to know as doing this has snuck onto my todo list recently.

Sittn here in Melbourne airport waitn 4 my connector to Perth.

The 'kind' AQIS guy in Perth won't take a pre-booking to inspect my bike, wants me there, papers in hand before he will issue an inspection booking= 48hrs down track!
I need to be at my job then! Now I have to pay a clearance firm to try and streamline this process!
I tell you all, and you heard from Clint & Rosie too: they don't make it easy for us to come over with our bikes!

    Chill.................................

Wouldn't go there, they are really dear and little choice of dates for sailings....you can very easily DIY....plenty here have and saved a safari's worth of coin!

Well, I'm sittn up at the farm now, been here 2 days and right now its too windy to spread!
Very isolated here, a little 'deliverance' like even! Just got online confirmation my bike has finally reached Perth and I have all the appointments in place for monday morning for inspections....so, all giong well I should have her back here before 'roo-time' monday! ( and straight back in the truck to finish my shift at midnite!).
It looks like quite an interesting area to explore when I get the chance: gently rolling country with lots of scruby areas...not all flat with straight roads
I cannot belive I have 3G mobile broadband here, no Voda at all, when I can't hardly get GPRS at home only 40km from a large town! Crazy, but very handy!

I had better go down to the workshop, 20km away across the farm(10000ha), and find something to do to pay for this session!!

    Cheers guys, Jamie.
