going into a bike dealer and telling them I wanted to buy a K100RS. The guy looked at me and said "Your too young for a bike like that" That was in 1995 and I was 31 at the time. Had my K for 11 years and loved it.
Like others have said, not huge HP but useable HP. Hardly need to change gear, just twist the throttle. To me thats what riding is all about - effortless!
I think at the ripe old age of 22, I'm starting to look at bikes like the new Bonnie etc.
I loving my Daytona at the moment, but I donno if it suits my style

Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.
If you think the airheads are a tad boring, think again! Check out Kiwi Airheads http://www.www.rter.co.nz/Airheads/ and check out the racers. There's some bloody nice bikes like the R90S's going strong after more than 30 years. These are well put together bikes and there's no two ways about it, they're bloody admirable. And great to ride...
It's just cos you're a wee man Sidewinder. If you were a big boy, you'd appreciate tigers, beemers and my ever so sexy TDM. They're proper "man's" bikes. On the road, sportsbikes are merely for little boys and girls who like to pretend they can ride fast.

Damn, I remember Duncan Mckee very very well. And his bikes. I remember him and Sean Kelly competing often - the two fastest boxer twins in Bears.
And earlier, Mckee doing the bears F1 race against Mike King on his 888(or 851?)- both were damn fast. Quicker than Anything else on the track that day.......same day Raymond Roche kicked arse at Manfield. 1987/88 era I think?
Funny to see a MoT (cop) bike get transformed into a goddamn rocket. Even funnier seeing it blitz the hottest Ducatis of the day too.
Oh, good memories. (And sorry for renewing this old old thread?)
bmw s1000rr is no old mans bike. If I had the money I'd def buy one of those in black, such a sexy bike...my dream bike
