Owned a Dakar f650gs for six years these bikes are very easy to over fill had the bike serviced by myself & the local BMW delarship. Pays to fill to service manual specs. Funny thing is it would sometimes look a little light even after the engine was hot & top it up to the level on the site glass and find on the next run the bloody thing was over fill. Personally if your invoice shows the correct amount of oil has been put in the bike it should be all good. Next time you have been for a ride you will probably find the level is ok. Its a pain trying to get oil out after its been overfilled.
now you know why BMW was cheaper......
They use less oil...
Being curious how much do they charge for an oilchange?
Opinions are like arseholes: Everybody has got one, but that doesn't mean you got to air it in public all the time....
So long as you can see it in the sight glass you have more than enought oil in there.
Did you ask for an oil change or a service?
It's not hard to do yourself. Once the indicators are off you're halfway there :-).
The oil must be checked after a run, 3min. isn;t going to do anything. If you had it running hot, the reading should be good. The engine takes 2.3 liters with a filter change. The manual states that it may have to be topped up after the engine has been run properly.
They may have poured in the initial 2 liters, but then didn't run the engine to fill in the additional .3 liters.
Next time buy the parts and do the job yourself. It will help you to get to know your bike. I'd send you a manual, but you've got to be able to read it in German.
