    Stuffed or what?

Bought this tyre off Pritch only bout 6 weeks ago I guess? Pritch? The last pic is as it looked when first fitted, about 1/4 ish worn.

Anyway, great deal on it in all (thanks again kind sir!) but I have gotten sideways a couple of times on it & i'd hazard a guess it's due to the current condition of said tyre. Anyone had a rear start cutting up like this?

What pressure you running? I guess you check it regularly.
May the road rise up to meet you.

Adjust your riding to suit your tyre(s) or get tyre(s) to suit your riding. I suspect you are a member of the Kill a Tyre in 1500kms or Less brigade...
    That always costs.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Yeah no drama's, just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced a similar thing is all.

Bike is up for sale so just wanted to put a newer tyre on it prior to sale, it is a Metzeler Roadtec Z6 so hardly a sub standard tyre.

    A. You are a hoon and need a sport tyre.

    B. The tyre was actually 7/10's worn and he glued hundreds of used condoms on it, cut new grooves and painted it black.......

    C. It has been sitting for a long time - and it has gone 'off'.

I suspect C, as I have had this happen on a bike some years ago - tyre looked perfect but it had had little use for a couple of years and hardened up - it wore badly, handled like crap and was replaced with only about a third worn. Problem fixed.

Or it could be option C.........

You can check the date of manufacture. All tyres that I have seen come with them embossed somwhere on the sidewall of the tyre. Generally a three or four digit number eg 1401 meaning 14th week 2001. Or 145 14 week 1995.

I'd still ride on it - but then again im not the best guide to what you should ride on. Only reason i seem to change tyres is due to WOF.

Yeah older tyre, younger hoon ! sideways action is never fun on the forgotton highway !
You'd be better on a sports tyre anyway !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !
