    New Rider (Scotty595)

    Hey everybody.

I am new to biking, I have just bought a rgv150. Now i have had the bike for 2 days and i already feel completely comfortable on it, quite happily tackling aucklands traffic with it, even felt comfortable on the motorway. Now i'm thinking that this may not be a good thing as i dont have the skills to tackle issues that may arise.

Basically I am wanting to know if anyone can give me some tips, tricks and techniques that i can start practicing and using so i can still be alive and kicking when i am sixty.

    Any help/feedback welcome.

    Thanks!
    Scott

    Hi Scott

    Welcome to KB...

I would suggest that you get on the next BRONZ Right Right Ride Safe course. Excellent day out and you will learn heaps.

    http://www.rrrs.org.nz/

Oh ... If I had any suggestions it would be to follow the 2 second plus rule (more if its wet).

Leave yourself HEAPS of room for mishaps ahead and stay well aware of what is going on ahead and around you esp. in traffic.

    Cheers

Comfort is a great thing on bike!!!
However so is being aware you dont have alot of skills.....
This place is great for advice, but never take it as gospel as everyone has a different opinion! (sorry if that offends anyone), always just take what you think will help you.
Get along to the days that the boys above have mentioned.... invaluable for noobs.

    Have fun. Ride safe....

Welcome to the wonderful world of motorcycling mate.

Auckland is quite a nerve wrecking place at times but you will get used to it.

If you would like some advice on riding best to come to North Auckland Street Skills (NASS) at shell westgate at 6:30 on wednesday. Ride departs for the training ground at 7pm.

Welcome to KB, good start bike. You might be bored quickly with the RGV however.

Seriously - go on the RRRS course suggested in the thread above, it is a definite must for noobies.

Welcome to the lunacy that is KB, Scotty. Another vote for you doing a RRRS course. There is a heap of [fun]stuff to learn yet!
