same motor, just tuned differently as far as im aware, the rest is just diference in riding position, so depends on what you like better when you go test riding.

    Basically, a CBR.

    Technically, also a CBR.

The main difference in the engines is the cbr revs to 18K for a MC19 and 19K for a MC22 where the hornet's redline is 16K, and the cbr engines are rated to 45HP compared to the hornets 40HP.

As to which is faster, in theory the cbr will be, but i'm not so sure on that since most cbr's will have been used and abused much more than most hornets. Either way you go they are both sweet bikes, but i would probably look at getting a hornet unless you can find a nice MC22 going for cheap.

EDIT: Buy Badger's bike, it's a sweet piece of machinery and would be much easier to sell when you upgrade than that tyga kitted cbr that's done high k's.

i think the 5 hp difference comes from the fact that the engine comes from the newer cbr that got restricted, so 40 hp is also what you get from newer cbrs. yeah the 16k redline is simply cos the hornet is more of a commuter so the engine is tuned accordingly unlike the cbr whos a lil racebike but yeah id go with the hornet if i had to pick from those pics, the tyga set looks awesome but really high ks

From 94 onwards all the cbr's were reduced to 40HP due to the japanese license restrictions that were put in place, which is also why the hornets were restricted to 40HP. Prior to that the cbr's were all rated to 45HP.

I think around '92 the Japanese restriction laws came into play. Hence the lower hp for the hornet.

According to the almight Wikipedia the law was changed in 94, still could be wrong though...

cbr250rr is faster, but the main reason id take one is that it handles better bacause of better forks and frame and it has better brakes, all the honda sintgle disc set-ups are shit. get a cbr.
