Leave the poor bloke alone, he had a shit experience and he is going to learn from his mistakes. Its up to you older kbers to educate him on what decisions he should make next time and good lessons on why, i dont think he posted this thread for sympathy he is looking for help and advice and mature old blokes to talk about it!

i am really sick of the young, dumb, full of cum idiots giving my generation a bad name! we are NOT ALL IDIOTS! sick of the ones who think the world owes them a life. sorry, but we do not owe you a living... if anything, us younger ones owe the older generations a living [ie war vets]
there was a kid at my work a few weeks back who kept on messing up the kitchen getting more and more toast and making coffee after coffee. he got kicked off after he called mum a cunt for kicking him out of the kitchen. at the same time, he bitched and moaned about having no food or place to live. wonder whos fault that was? certainly not my mothers fault. he also cut up some seats in a van and tagged the back of one seat... that tag never did come off.

dude, there are heaps of ways to get extra moolah. sell some stuff on tardme, like i am. quit wasting any spare money on booze or smokes [if you drink or smoke] and only buy what you need, not what you want. getting a bigger bike, and then getting caught on it, will only make the figure on the fine higher. admittedly, i rode a 500 on my learners, but i never rode like an idiot, and hey, i never got caught. you really need to suck it up, and learn from the lessons given to you. most people would have learned after the first fine that it hurts if you let things get out of date.

OK ok, I wasn't riding like an idiot, I was doing 105 on the motorway in the right hand lane , HE was doing 120 so I got in the left hand to let him pass. He slowed down later on and I slowly caught up to him. I got in front, he obviously either recognised my bike or ran my plates and pulled me over.

The VERY first thing he said to me when I said "Hi ya mate" was "where are your L plates" so he obviously knew.

I don't ride like a dick (most of the time). The reason I got the bike in the first place was for convenience... to those of you telling me to catch the bus, it's actaully much MUCH cheaper for me to ride into town than to catch the bus... and I can park at uni. Saves about 2.5 hours in the day aswell.

Anyway, I knew I what I was doing was against the law, just thought he could hav ebeen a nice guy after I explained my situation(just needing a rear tyre as it's just past minimum tread depth and I'm saving). Shit, it's not like I'm hurting anyone, I'm only gonna hurt myself if I come off.

I'm not being a 'tough guy', I'm generally a really nice guy, but I know these pricks wouldn't be laughing in my face in person.

My intention was to tell the story of what happened and ask if anyone knows some cheap bikes for sale cos if I'm gonna pay fines, I might aswell spend do it on a bigger bike.

Didn't appreciate the "you're a cunt, you're a fucking dick" laughing in my face, but fuck it, you guys can be pig headed fucking grandads if you want, cos you all know soooooo much more better than I do.

So yea, next time I'll just keep my mouth shut so I don't have to be a target for you guys to feel awesome, and making my day just that little bit shitter.

NB: Just got a new rear tyre fitted at cycletreads and have booked in for a warrant on saturday. Cheers.

Same! I also didn't have a rego and got one of those too. Mind you I wasn't going anywhere but to VTNZ.

It is never ok to ride unless you are fully legal in everyway. Having said that, we all have at some point in our lives. I have been guilty of both the terrible crimes of driving and riding (though less so riding) of no WOF and/or no Rego. Mostly this has been pure over sight on my part but I have knowingly done it as well when times were tough. Risk management it is called.

Yes and aint that the truth right there, keep your nose clean, dont speed or draw attention to yourself and likely you will "get away" with it. Mind out for the random compulsory stops though.

Best practise is keep it legal all the time.

    I certainly do.

Fuck off. No, he didn't. He came up against reality. Just like everyone else does. And why should it be up to 'us older KBers' to educate him? He came in here ranting about the 'poor me' thing, wanting a shoulder to cry on. He got what he deserved (both situations) and being pinged for the same thing twice just proves he's not teachable, anyway. FFS, he even tried to tell us that he's been all road legal since the last time, when he told us in the preceding post that he hasn't had a reg since Sept last year.
The young, world-owes-me types all come a cropper, sooner or later. He's not special in that regard.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

He posted this thread to have a bleat about getting done for the second time for the same thing, by the same cop, who the OP thinks has it in for him. The fact taht he is broke and just racked up a further big fine also seems to be a problem. You can not call it a shit experience, he must have calculated the risk he was taking and found it acceptable to him.

See this is where I get a bit confused. If you knowingly do something that is illegal, and you already know the penalty, how the hell can you bleat about getting caught out?

    Ah the young........

You could or will hurt the following people:

1.The kid waiting to cross the road to go to school that your bike slides into.

2.The Ambo person who has to pick you up off the road and take you to hospital. Heads up - they do not enjoy seeing people in pain.

3.Anyone who treats you at hospital. Heads up - they do not enjoy seeing people in pain.

4.Anyone who cares about you and suffers watching you in pain.

    5. Your unborn children who won't be born as you tore your scrotum off on the instrument cluster on your way off the bike.....

    6. Anyone who has a job and is paying taxes to cover your arse reconstruction via ACC.

Out of interest WHY where you not displaying the L plate after previously being in trouble for not having one.

I can tell you for a fact I would laugh in your face in person.

I'm no "senior" member either but I wouldn't excuse your stupidity on the basis of age. Four pages into the thread and you're still sounding like a tit.

If you can't afford a tire/WOF/rego etc you can't afford to ride bikes. No matter how you wanna rationalise it the bus is the better option for you unless you wanna keep running the gauntlet which, it seems, you are not particularly good at.
