    04 RMZ250 seized hot start

Boss bought a new hack for us to use at work. Its an 04 (i think) RMZ250. Upon having a ride today i noticed that the hot start lever would not budge.
Removed the carb and undone the plastic nut at the end of the cable to find the brass bit could not be removed from the carb. Soaked it in CRC, no luck. Heated it with a Heat gun (not keen to try naked flame!), still no luck.
So we have CRC'd it some more and will see what happens.

Has anyone had any experience with this???

yeah this is fairly common, you need to get it moving and this may mean taping it in a bit further whilst soaked in crc, any movement is good then with the cable removed from the bike use it to help pull the little sucker out. you can grip it with long nose pliers with out breaking it if you have the nipple of the cable in it, good luck.

very comman on all FCR carbs on 4 strokes, the 04 rmz/kxf250 was very bad for it due to having no rubber boot pretecting it, sometimes need to be drilled out,

we have the plungers in stock, give me a yell ,

Heat was the only way I got mine free when I had an 04 kxf and the hot start seized on me.

It's the beauty of having two metals with different heat characteristics.

    Thanks Scott.

Spent a few hours tonight trying to get the rear axle out (just wanted to spin the tyre around), it was seized aswell. Got it eventually. Don't think this bike has seen CRC in a while.

Guess we will be up against the same thing when we decide to remove the front axle etc
