    Bastard/Mutant Spawn

Lovechild of a CBX and VFR.

I kinda like it, although the wheelbase looks a bit long.

    Interesting.
Going by the size of the turkey strips though... handling could be a bit "iffy".

Yes, surprised me they put in all that work and didn't cut the rake back.

Wheelbase could be for high speed stability.

Rake isn't that bad either - imagine a cradle frame on it.
It's the way the donk hangs out in the wind that makes it looks so.

I like the balance of the GSXR/CBX, the proportions are more correct. This bike was built by Parts Unlimited with literally unlimited budget (I read somewhere $90k, USD).

The stock CBX is actually a very pretty piece from the side - but from behind it looks very dated with such a skinny rear.

I run Performance Machine billet wheels (one offs) on mine, with 160 section rear tire. It also has a newer swing arm to accomodate.

The CBX is very slow by todays standards, and poor brakes/handling. But it is something else when it's at full noise....

It’s diametrically opposed to the sanitised existence of the Lemmings around me in the Dilbert Cartoon hell I live in; it’s life at full volume, perfect colour with high resolution and 10,000 watts of amplification.

    Aha!
Finally madbikeboy posts a reply (I was waiting for it).
Is that first pic of your bike? It looks like new; you must've spent a lot of time'n'money on it. Very nice!

Mine is the same colour, year etc. That's about where the resemblance ends.... Mine is actually in similar condition, just not stock.

As for money and time, oh yes. Lots of both. It's been a constant process of modification since it was new. I am the second owner.

Performance Machine billet wheels, brake calipers, master. PM rotors front and rear (rear has been cross-drilled). Additional Lockhart oil cooler. CB1000 forks, resprung, worked by HRC in LA. One off swingarm. Candy apple paint, done righteously. Custom CNC machined rear sets (like factory, but done righteously). Braided hoses. Cam'd. Ported and polished. Kerker pipes, handmade by the factory - 3 into 2's x 2.

Is that thing made out of Coke cans? It's OK but got that homemade look about it.
The first bike though - yeah, I'd tap that!

It has an interesting acoustic signature, not at all like a CBX, but kinda, sorta.

    It's quieter than I expected.

Agreed, but they are a bit on the large size though.
