    I Did A Grizzle ...

In a moment of pissedoffedness ... I sent a grizzle e-mail to nzoom/tvone for their lack of / slack coverage of motorbike sport and NZ racing in particular . This was inspired coz the results of the MotoGP were not complete on the nzoom sport site.

This has resulted in my receiving an e-mail from Anna.Gowan@tvnz.co.nz , a very pleasant , politically correct e-mail in actual fact.

What I suggest, nay challenge is for all grizzlers to equal or better my grizzle and e-mail the afforementioned Anna.Gowan@tvnz.co.nz and lets see if we can make a change here.

All those in favour say aye

    AYE!!!

    motion carried.

(Can you tell that I'm from the era when unions had teeth?)

Now ... wheres my beer ?

I saw some pretty cool racing on the sat/Sun? Moto gp and superbikes! Most impressed, even if they were old footage.
Just wish they I knew sooner

I would hate to say - but NZOOM being affiliated with TVone doesn't have the broadcasting rights to the MotoGP series in a live sense - and the audience in NZ is small in comparison to other sports - so it just doesn't rate in their view of the sporting needs of NZ.

I say get Sky Digital and then you could have watched the race live at 5.55pm and replayed a 8pm that night - rather than waiting for it on NZOOM.

Also try www.motogp.com or www.worldsbk.com if you want the results/news

Yeah yeah , I know ... I've got sky digital (was working when the race was on). But not every one has and I was just pissed off generally at the time by the lack of coverage motorbikes have in this country.

How much attention did the kiwi boys who won isle of man tt get titles this year ???

How about the up and coming bikers and those competing in the MotoX in europe and the US ? ... it doesnt even get a mention .. but Scott Dixon does (good on him tho', I dont begrudge him that) and the V8 boys, which is fine , no prob there .

.... ahhhrghh I'm not going to rant any longer ...

FFS ... I just think if we make enough noise with these people we might get the profile and status of biking lifted here.

The challenge still stands ... let them know we wanna see bikes on tv !!!

Just quietly ... I think the coverage of the GP and SBK on sky digi is pretty mediocre . Sure we get it live , but how about some replays if you miss it ? Not just a single hour of highlights the following day. ... ranting again ... over and out.

Also, if they cover formula three races on four wheels, why don't they cover the F3 races for 2 wheels as well? F2 and F1 as well ofcourse and some other classes. It would open a whole lotta doors for motorcycle racing in NZ I reckon.

At lest you got a email back!
I sent a nicely worded email a couple of months ago encorageing more bike content, NZ raceing, and we certainly should get SOMETHING from the "isle of man" with this years Kiwi connection done so well!!
    Heard nothing back!

Maybe I need to make my next email into a "Grizzly" type one to get some responce.

Or maybe I should send my nice email to SP, to be edited with some "colourful Language", and then have it sent on to TVNZ. (Just to emphasis their injustice at not covering us NZ bikers)!

Remember when we got live coverage of the Wanganui races on Boxing day? It was a perfect way to recover from the excess of Xmas day. I'm not complaining about F1 coverage, but it ain't racing is it? Why can't we have full coverage of MotoGP, Superbikes and Supersport at least? Nothing beats bikes, they actually overtake.
