    Hamiltron-Raglan road conditions (1 May)

Couple of fairly major roadworks sites on this road this morning. One at top of the hill where the road has been manky for ages - finally getting fixed. Delays with one way traffic controlled by sign turners...(some job huh!)
Second site is on the straight just west of Mangakino Road. This is also one way complete with delays, controlled by a lights system. Some fairly deep loose gravel here, but not too scary.
The road in general has deteriorated somewhat in the last four - six weeks, prolly due to the recent rain. Watch for potholes that weren't there before - specially in some of the corners...a tendency to bounce over the centre-line can make itself apparent...

    Ham to Rags

Yeah I complained to Transit about the main road adjacent Mangakino road a few months ago, sounds like they listened to me. It was slippery as a long one when it rained, the bike was definitely like on ice for a while, good old transit !!

Actually enjoy going to Rags via Ngaruawahia/Waingaro road, and come home over the divvy, more exciting..

    Alternate routes:
    1. Old Mountain Road.
    2. Limeworks Loop Road, Fillery Road, Waitetuna Valley Road.

Only about 10km of gravel left on each...
