    Insurance?

Bit of a must. Only thing is there are quite a few insurance companies around and I have no idea which are good and which aren't. Does anybody have any suggestions as to a decent company for an under 25 rider?

I would suggest you get third party immediately. Just last weekend we were riding along on a borrowed V-Strom (me on the back). A young guy opened the door of his parked car into the traffic. He knocked us off the bike and on the way down we crashed against the side of the (newish, expensive) car to our right. Pretty much every panel on the left side of the car was damaged. The bike hit the road and scraped everything on its right hand side.

The guy who opened his door didn't have insurance. He now has two insurance companies after him for potentially several thousand dollars worth of damage. He could have spent $100 per year for third party insurance and saved himself all the trouble.

Everyone shoud have third party insurance before they go out on the road.

I did. Found 4700 threads that contained the word insurance somewhere in them. Very helpful.

Kiwibike seems to have a good rep (unlike the big companies), so will see what the go is with them.

The Insurer is Star Insurance....premiums have gone up a tad since last year but what the hell, insurance is needed and I am happy with it.
