    A Letter From ACC

I was just wondering if anyone else has recived a letter in the mail from ACC asking people to take part in a survey about Motorcycle riders. They got the information about me from the LTSA.

    Arrow No, not me.

I was told that they are actually only wanting dodgy riders to give them more ammo to put ACC rates up for bikers... (PT- but could easily be true)
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

Good old ACC. I dislike them although they have paid so many hospital bills for me
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

Got the letter and was called up the other day. They just asked me about experience and what riding gear do you own. Supposed to be a survey on riders under the age of 25

I've only bothered claiming ACC for one incident but I think the application fee was about 20$ is this normal, I know all my old rugby ones were about 5$ maybe I'm getting outa touch in my old age

I recall reading about a similar stunt pulled by the UK equivalent of LTSA (any poms able to remember who/what?) a few years ago asking bikers complete BS questions like
How often do you exceed the speed limit?
When you exceed the speed limit, is it more than 10kmh? 30Kmhr? 50 or more kmhr?
Do you ever wheelie your motorcycle?

The bike magazines at least rightly told them where to get off but the dept involved was apparently a bit confused as to why everyone was upset at them for trying to screw bikers over with such a loaded survey.

If you do get a call, remember you're a fine upstanding citizen that can't bear the thought of exceeding the posted speed limit (you know that means you're safe) lest your bike explode under you from the excruciating wear and tear on your machine it was never ever designed to cope with!!

i got the letter and have done the survey,
no mention of speed, cunning stunts etc.......
q's about experience, saftey gear and safe practices, need and availabilty of advanced training...........
plus an open section at the end for comments, i mentioned the stupidity of the cheese slicer barriers goin up everywhere, the possibility of reducing taxes on safety gear and about more motorcycle awareness in the car licencing syllabus.
The world stands aside to let anyone pass who knows where he is going....
