I had a button on my Suzuki Freewind that changed from MPH to KPH. I rode home at 80MPH one day before I realised I had accidentally hit the button.
If you can't get permanent transfers that will not rub off, the thing we had to do in the UK was to get a dealer to exchange the unit and certify the before and after numbers. If you are not bothered about such confirmations you can just keep the old one and photograph the new KMage so that any new owner won't have a problem or be suspicious.
