I'm no pro, my brother's a damn good rider and he's taught me what he can the rest i've picked up from trying to beat him (unsuccessfully so far lol) and riding with people that are better than me.

I'm not gonna take any money off anyone either but i'd be happy to take you guys for a ride up karapoti or tangimoana sometime cos' i'll get satisfaction from helping out and a good laugh at someone elses expense is invaluable hahaaa. I have learner mates who'd be keen to tag along too. I think Karapoti would be the better option.

We'll just have to find a day when i'm not riding with mates who wanna go balls out all day... i'm prepared to wait but don't wanna hold the boys up. I'm going up to tangi on sat with the boys and you're welcome up there with us, i just won't be able to wait around with ya's all day but i could get ya's into the forrest and you could bash out a loop with each other. We sometimes just make a nat terrain MX loop in there and see who can do the most laps before collapse. Sunday's booked up too. Pity about these short days now cos it's good fun riding on week days but too cold and dark now.

Re weather... this isn't fucking criket lol. More mud the better girls

More than anything you just gotta spend all the time you can on your bike 'cos no one can simply instruct you to awesomness. So just get out there like you are already, talk to everyone and have a ball

Remember that not every dirtbiker is on KB so if you're after some more professional tuition you could contact the clubs (of which you'll find a list on silverbullet.co.nz)

I recon i could teach ya something tho

No offence, but do you guys know where the PM Button is? LOL
It would have been really nice of you to take that to private messages so that this thread could hopefully have gotten the attention of people it would be useful to us to attract, without them having to trawl through posts that aren't relevant and getting put off.....
I appreciate you reading this, really I do. But I really would like this particular thread to stay on topic.... hard to achieve on a forum, but I'll give it a go LOL

That actually sounds pretty good, I will have a chat with the team and see who is around on Saturday and if we can make it up, whats your plan? Times etc?

Bwahahahahahaha wasnt the rain or mud that bothers me. Is the wind
Last MTB skills course I went on it was torrential all both days hahaha, I spent most of my winters on the bike for the last 5 years, so have been through a tonne of mud LOL
My thought was the wind in Wellington and the weight of the bike should things go pear shaped on me.....
Rain and mud are great learning tools, as if you can ride through slippery mud and sheet rain, you can damn near ride anything.
But I havent quite built up enough strength to deal with 100km wind gusts LOL

if theres a few of you of similar skill level id recomend just find a places to ride and go there as often as possible. Internet has lots of tips on how to set up a bike (handlbar, shifter, race sag etc) and basic riding positions, just go out get into it and youll soon figure it out. If i was down that way id help but palmys a bit far away, unless theres anywhere truly epic to ride down your way? theres not a lot up here.

My coaching days are $90 per person and cover all the aspects that you will see in the above links. You get a CD of high quality photos of your accomplishments and snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.

Particular emphasis is placed on safe riding habits and bike prep and setup rather than nailing berms and launching into space!-
remember, you are riding an expensive and potentially dangerous piece of machinery. for feedback on these days go to my website and click on 'ranking and reviews' in the bottom left corner.

Fuel, venue costs and my time to travel to Werllitown will mean that its going to be expensive. however- If you were to make the hikoi up here- you would be having an adventure in the Coromandel Gold feilds and A Ladies weekend away. I have others like Midget who are keen and a couple of non KBer ladies who have just bought bikes and want to have a ladies day.

Ive got nice accomodation here. www.bularangi.co.nz at a special rate with spa and bike storage.
Retired- just some guy with a few bikes......

Yeah what bogan said is quite true gals. It sounds like you can improve by chasing crfchick, C1. And as Bogan said you want somewhere that you can session regularly, somewhere that you won't get bored of and somewhere close... Karapoti is the place. Once you get to know it and get used to it (may take a few rides) you'll love it.

I have envisioned new problems with taking you up there with my bike as the gearing is tall so i have to do everything at speed or it kills clutches. I'm gonna ring the quad hire place on the pram side and see if they'll rent me a quad. This'll mean starting from the paraparam side. Oh and the only day i have off work that weekend is the Sunday (17may) so ya can't fail on me if your keen on that day

Bogan come for a hoon... there's some hellass death shit to do up there mate... it's truly epic
