ok; thanks. i've heard that the Banshee motor is the same? is this right? no idea whether it would be easier to get one; but might be an interesting alternative for a gamaha conversion.

Anyone got a spare banshee motor to try it???

Banshee is derived from the RZ. But some differences. Biggest one is no YPVS. And the exhaust mounting at the barrel are different. Some other differences also. But most Banshee bits fit RZ/RDLC (valves too)

thanks; forgive the ignorance, but the power valve does what? adds to traction?

the banshee seems like an incredibly powerful bike; maybe the power valve isn't that necessary? again, i speak from utter ignorance on the point.

Banshee isn't a bike, it's a three wheel racing quad thing (three wheel quad ? go figure, but tricycle sounds silly)

Power valve makes the engine more tractable at lower revs. Not an issue in a racing thingie.

cool; yeah - quads. there is heaps out there for the banshee.

have a look at this; http://www.stanstephens.com/ypvs350.htm

and then trinity and other providers; i think i can live without power valves. there are some monster engines out there. might have to top up the life insurance.

now; to track down some crankcases...
