Importing helmet?

Model is available here - but the particular graphic that we wanted wasn't. Dealer couldn't get it - spoke to the NZ distributors and they don't/wont bring that one in - anyway it is apparently a discontinued model now.
But all good as it is on it's way to us.

You'd save a lot of money if you get the same helmet from the USA, though it won't have the required DOT stamp.

Nooo.... you want to read my earlier post, a Japanese helmet ex-USA is illegal if it has a DOT approval, though if it has Snell or virtually anything else it's fine.

Not only that DOT approval is not the best approval to have - particularly if that is the only one the helmet has met.

And as far as Sharp helmet ratings go, let's not start that one up again - there's at least two other threads on that and there is much debate worldwide as far as their usefullness goes.

I'd imagine the Caberg helmets would carry ECE 22/05 or similar which is one of the better standards, good enough for me.
