Apparently in the next MCn (due out tomorrow, I think), they are going to be showing REAL pictures of the new VFR, to be released in the last quarter of this year.

Sounds very "Tui moment" ish to me....

I don't really care much any more. They're bound to make it some mental eco-friendly abortion that drops some cylinders while cruising, like the V6 Honda Accord, and which has an automatic gearbox like that silly DN-01, and a pricetag like that two-wheeled Couch-o-wing.

I'm going to continue on fixing my VFR up. I've ordered the fork parts, and booked some time with Dr Taylor. After that, all that's left is a new seat from Dr McDonald, and some new makeup from wherever....
Then it's time to rack up another 85,000 km.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Oh you're a cheerful person to be around!

I'm still holding out hopes for the RC30FI. Else I'll have to start kidnapping Honda employee's children and so forth, and I really don't have the time for that at the moment.

    vifferman was right
That’s it’s variable-cylinder engine, which enables the rear bank of cylinders to shut down completely, leaving the bike effectively a parallel twin on light loads, which should dramatically boost fuel economy and emissions performance.
if they want fuel efficiency why not just make a SMALLER bike, and then fit a supercharger or turbo for when moar power is required

Sports bike looks/style have been downhill over the last few years

They were right on the money from about 2003 to 2006

Bollocks! The 2001 VFR is MUCH better looking than those mutant Vtecs!
    As for this? Hmmm... dunno...

I don't get why Honda would allow this "official picture" to be released ahead of any official announcement from them.

Anyway, check these out (maybe MCN's source?)

    WANT.

You could probably get it over here for about the same price as a brand spankers MV or Ducati 1198...

Just been perusing the photo's of it. Taken a couple of days ago.
Whether it is still pre-production and cosmetic changes will be made???

Quite probably, and likely they are intended to disguise it a mite.
And for those who say it's a BMW (it looks very like one), the technicians were Japanese, there were boxes of Honda parts in the truck, the brakes on the model are Nissin (BMW use Brembo), the rear wheel's very similar to that from the DN-01, and there are some other parts (mirrors, windshield, rear tail parts) off or very similar to existing Honda models.
    ... and that's what I think.

Quite so. The arse end looks very similar, but the patch-up job of where the pipes used to sit, looks rather poorly done.
I wonder if the new rear wheel hub has been increased to counter balance the flugelhorn exhaust?

    Those spy photos are shocking.

I cannot believe a Honda representative would be so slack with his riding gear.
