    Unmarked police bike?????????

I was riding along riverhead coatesville rd last sunday and thought I saw a red sports bike going in the other direction with a red (and maybe a blue) flashing light. only saw it for a second as I was concentrating on the next corner. I maybe wrong but has anyone seen this

They'll be easy to spot, because they'll be the only ones who aren't speeding on the Akaroa highway.
Drivers doing the speed limit in Christchurch are suspicious enough, but a motorcycle on the way to Akaroa?

Nah, don't see any point in normal radio. I have CB Radio for comms to other bikes already.

Currently trying to find a good CB transceiver, and found one with police scanning, but don't believe its waterproof

Being a supermoto, I'm also running out of space to mount stuff

Yeah ok, here's probably one of the better pics, but out of date.

right is magnetic plate for radar, left is gps (plus music), to the left of that now, partially hidden behind the gps is the oxford display for the heated grips. Where you see the dial just to the right of the left grip is the old heated grips I had, thats now where the remote display for the radar sits.

Somehow, I'd like to sit a CB transceiver up there...

Under the seat is the puncture repair kit, toolkit, baehr communications box and a normal uhf cb handheld radio plus all the wiring. Its full.

edit: the button under the left switch block is the push to talk (PTT) button for the uhf radio...

So what’s the deal about entrapment?
I just in the process of trying to find out if travelling @ 80kph in a 100 holding up cars who are two S scared to pass then picking up speed to catch a biker at 114kph is a common police tactic.
    I think that's entrapment

Hmmm. I drive the car I ride the bike. I accept the mufti cars but I have a hint of hypocrite regarding a mufti bike.
    Why?
I am concerned about the high potential for serious damage here to either rider and the innocent public. Picture it - fanging along - you see a bike in your mirrors - he tails you - you give it a bit more, he tails you. At this stage it depends on your personal mojo - me I'd button off when the speed gets up a bit (just within keep your license) - but I suspect plenty would give it more stick.
The GP starts, both parties have upped the pace, risks are being taken.

Yes it happens in cars but apparently we are something like 10 x more likely to hurt ourselves on bikes.......

On a lighter side, I can see Rodney in Parliament wanting the government to explain why Officer XYZ has spent $6000 on tyres in one year....

Irrelevent... once you're in court, who is going to believe you over a policeman?

I've been told that we have unmarked police bikes to. Insider info, but i don't know where they've been assigned.

If the cop is doing 160km on his bike to catch the speeder does he get a ticket too? and isn't it entrapment to ride on an unmarked bike and speed with a rider then say he was speeding?
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun!
