If I were doing stunts of some sort, then the plod came along and busted my mate (who wasn't doing stunts) I wouldn't fess up, but I would encourage him to go to court and challenge the police to prove it was him

If i was ripping along too fast and a my mate wasn't, the cop comes the other way, swings around a pings him for my speed - tough, I'm not putting my hand up (but I might offer to help pay the fine if they get a bit pissy with me)

Because I have an open mind and am interested in the views of others. This is something you should consider. Perhaps your "own better judgement" would actually be better judgement if you were to consider and learn from other people's opinions - it certainly couldn't get much worse.

Let's just say that after this thread, as a rider who rides sensibly but often in groups, is only licensed due to an exemption, doesn't pull wheelies, doesn't speed... I know who I am not going to be riding with in future should they decide to again join a ride I'm on.

Again not what you claim to be doing in the first place. Would you believe that there is still more about this situation that is not on here? Please go back to your sources and ask them for the whole story if what you are really interested in is the truth. Speak to all parties before passing your 'judgment', if they should want to entertain your request. You might learn something. I had a lot of respect for you Noel and you taught me much about my R6. But this sort of behavior from a more experienced rider, and one I trusted makes me want to re evaluate my circle of friends.

The OP was not posited as an actual event.
To do so would have as you note, required me to make it a "priority to understand the entire situation". Such an investigation does not interest me, I have other things to do with my time thank you.
