Thanks for your honesty here Scummie. Unfortunately it'll take a lot more than this to restore my faith in your "profession".

Funny that you mention quotas. As I understand it, there are also quotas for Dangerous Driving and other serious charges these days, as well as minor infringements. Also interesting is that the "star witness" in my case is actually the quota-issuer for Hazzard County. He was prepared to prosecute based on inaccuracies and mis-truth's until we pointed these out from the Police disclosure. Weirdly enough, when the facts were on the table, he wasn't prepared to back up his statement of facts in court with testimony. Lying prick.

A tip for others: It seems that if you request it, the Police are obliged to supply you with a recording of the comms radio that relates (if it relates) to your charge. Be specific and request a written transcript as a recording can't always be played in court, where a transcript can be entered as evidence.

Without the Comms recording to point out the inconsistencies in Boss Hogg's evidence I would have been fucked even harder than I was.

..............Moving away from the often unfathomable behaviour of the police for a minute...........The real issue is the need for individuals having to pay outrageous sums of money to defend themselves with no hope of recompense.

NZ does not run a 'justice' system it runs a 'legal' system, the primary purpose of which is to extract large quantities of cash. Where else does a consumer pay when he is innocent for a service he does not want, and then when found innocent by the courts loses the vast dollars forked out. The NZ legal system deserves no respect,and receives no respect from those like DEATH, Madness and myself that have been chewed up and spat out by dodgy coppers, dodgy process and nothing short of institutionalized corruption, instigated by the government-for the government with explicit help from perhaps the lowest life form=the lawyer!.

And HAzzard County must run some wierd whacko system of ticket issuing etc as to date I have not seen a ticket issued in what in my opinion were unfair/illegal circumstances.

On the other hand those fine upstanding members of the public that have defended MY tickets (all four of them in 12 years from memory) seem to think whatever they say is OK if it might get them off the ticket, total fabrication of 'facts' is apparently quite acceptable as is sudden amnesia when the judge asks telling questions.

Maybe they all went north and joined the Hazzard County Cops?
