    mataikona castle point ride.today.

    WOW what a day.

we rode Zukins old play ground today.

we had the best day out and a heap of fun...a few slippy moments..but smiles every where...

all started at 10am at solway caltex.

fueled and ready, of we went.

warming our tires on way to tinui valley, hit the gravel hard...
the futher in we went the more the road turned to shit...and shit it was..slipy slidy shit.
pac spur was crap from top to bottom....sweet...

all down hill so most of it was a controled slide....well that was the plan..
all made it down with out to much drama.

scooted along the matikona beach front, just a great rocky beach.

arrived at castle point for lunch.
a bit of a wizz down the beach, very few people so was good.

after noon we headed for castle hill, wairi rd, and back to my house for a cupper.

great to meet a couple new riders.
just a magic day in the saddle.

RIP zukin, this one was for you.

Looks like things went well for the team and you had fun. I decided against risking myself and the big bike on a possibly slippery "challenge" section and instead went via seal to Palmerston North for lunch and a poke around Bruce McKenzie books and bikes shops. Dismal conditions north of Levin, would have been better to have stayed in town!
I would have made a meal of Pack Spur Road so just as well I passed. I note Andy's bike is not quite its full self yet, sporting a "streetfighter look"!

Cheers Steve and yes it was great to be to be back on and offroad again. The Tranny is now naked in front & "better looking" quote from Aslan.

Joe started us on the worst - Pack Spur Rd was a greasy slippy slidey downhill. I think I was the only one to slip over, fortunately at only 5kph. Thanks Bryce for your help to pick up the bike. Well done Paul on getting down successfully on Trailwings? front & rear.

The other gravel roads provided excellent traction & we could fang it Ride sensibly I meant.

Thanks Darryl for being tailgunner on the trip home. Having no mirrors is too naked, I will buy one next week.

So you've met the Welly crew. They're not a bad bunch of roosters are they? Good to read the DRZ is getting dirty - gives Mrs Woody2 something to polish

Wil have to catch up in the spring & do a bit of adventuring around the bach. Have to warn ya tho the Blenheim boys ride like they've got a rocket up their jacksies

Great bunch of guys -The bach sounds like a plan, Mrs Woody is pretty busy with the housework, gardening, cleaning etc and she still has to go work and earn the big dollars....As for those Blenheim boys the less said the better I reckon. Take it easy Craig
    Cheers Daryl.
