One day I'll find a fix for that. Goes well for ages , then starts playing silly buggers for a period. I'm working on the basis that its the battery....maybe. Found a couple of possible shorts when I've looked hard for them. Crushed third gear indicator switch wire (for instance)

Just been looking thru thru all Eddie's videos, top stuff.
And Barry & Steve's photos are lifting the standard of trip report photos. The only problem with being a dedicated lensman is sometimes finding the gate's been shut by the time Eddie arrives!

Thanks for the help with fixing my puncture. I'm glad Joe's redesigned toolbox still had an airpump as several others had been left at home.

Yes, I know who my mates are, and aren't, aye Joe.

And if you look in the video he's even looking straight at me.

Do you have that last picture in a higher resolution Andy?

Could that have been snagged from removing the Stator cover then by someone? The neutral switch on the left with the philips head? Have you ever removed this? I think the issue with mine not indicating neutral is the switch. I have done some research, KTM owners have said it can fail periodically. My one comes on when I earth it, but won't go out when I change gear. I plonk a screwdriver in the hole with the wire and it lights up. Put the screw back in with the wire and it stops?
I am no sparkie but it sounds like a switch issue.
Do you still have the sidestand switch on the bike?
Under the seat there is acluster of pins, one goes to temp, one goes to sidestand switch - Green and black if it is original (neutral wire)

Oh god, Cnut Hill! You're welcome to have a go Bart; won't be risking it the way my back has been lately! The river crossings/entries & exits will be enough challenge for me i reckon! As in, staying upright is always a challenge for me LOL!
Either way, would be good to see you mate!
    Cheers, Dave

The old farm bike would make it up easy. Nice low gearing (and I can actually touch the ground).

I'm tempted. If the weather looks good, I might make an effort.

If the track is in a reasonable condition, I might nosey up the hill and see how far I get. My tyres are pretty shit though, so I don't like my chances.

The wire got nipped up on the very edge of the oil filter housing plate. It was too long in any event, so responded well to shortening.

There are three wire sets down to switches there. All connect with spade terminals. Yes, I identified the neutral switch - green & black as you say. Haven't removed the switch, but issues are common with other bikes, so don't see that KTM would be an exception to the rule.

The other close one is the second gear switch. Think that (& the thrid gear switch) is all to do with the TPS which (I think) changes the ignition curve dependent on gear & throttle, to stop fat Amercans looping the bike (??!!).

Took the sidestand switch off when I went back to the centrestand. Just effectively plugged it into itself.

The long range forecast has improved a bit for Saturday for Martinborough area. At the moment possible chance of showers but at least the snow forecast has moved forward to Friday LOL!

Sorry Dave. I don't think I can make it.
