I was just thinking it was overdue for me to try this ex road, having never done so. Will be weather dependent but keen to join the throng if that is OK. Will keep an eye out for where and when to meet.

be good if you could be in masterton around 9:30-10am...give us plenty time to arive at the track do a double run in and out again

i just rang the pub at pongaroa and there is no gas open on Saturday or sunday..

I'll probably meet you at Alfredon (or there abouts).

There are a lot more interesting roads around there than what you've picked. I guess the google job is just a guide, as one of the roads doesn't exist.

it might be sealed but you've got to admit that the road from Alfredon to Pongaroa is an absolute hoot.
