Blah Fuck you recession. I bought a new toy.

Well, i'd been looking for what seemed like ages when a KBer put me in touch with his mate who may have had something suitable. Long story short, I now own a 1987 Suzuki GSX 400 (Impulse) Track Bike.

Damned thing comes with a ton of extras. I've now got a spare Frame, Engine, Forks, Radiator, Sprockets, Pegs, Levers, Swing Arm, Fans, Hoses etc. and everything from the strip down.

It's running Total Loss, with an electric start, and the engine is absolutely mint. Really hums along. Bodywork is rough, but i'm not worried. I may do a spray-can paint job, but no other issues with it the bodywork than that. I like it rough.

Gotta replace the fork seals, and it's realy to go. Comes with three sets of rims (with discs already on) and tyres, One set of slicks, a set of intermediates, and a set of wets. Sounds much easier than pissing around changing tyres.

Just planning on Track Days at the moment, but if the seed idea of racing continues to grow, I think it's eligible for a bunch of classes. (Post Classics, Clubmans, Pre-89 and F3 - is that right? I'm not too sure of the regulatiuons. Just a pipe dream at the moment.)

Apparently (or allegedly) the bike won Clubmans a few years back. No idea on if it's true or not though.

Cool man. I've had a couple of impulses, they go well. Yours is a real looker!

I recon you'll be racing by the end of the year

Fantastic, will stop you from pranging the striple at track days.

All I need now is a spare collar bone, wrist, ribs etc. for the same reason.

I take it you'll be after a place to stay at the end of the month then?

Love to see the look on Dooly's face when you share a parking space with that....

there goes the elitism. I suspect i'll be booted out. Dooly said if he ever sees a Jap bike in his Garage, he'll set fire to my house. He's a big bugger too.

    Very cool.

Though my eye was constantly drawn to the Triumph.

It's all the Honda bodywork that makes it look good.

We used to call them "repulse", back in the day.

Aye. I think it's NSR bodywork?

After looking through Google, the Impulse (Repulse I like that. I'm gonna steal it and use it as my own) was never really a looker. It's small too. I feel like Big Dave on a Pocket Bike. I must look silly, and yet I don't care. It's plenty fast enough to get me into trouble.
