    Unmarked police bikes

They're not in NZ yet, but given that NZ follows the Victorian road safety model you might see them soon (or rather, not see them!).

Learner rider nabbed speeding at 153km/h

A learner motorcylist has had his bike impounded after he was caught speeding at nearly twice the legal limit in Melbourne's outer east this morning.

The 19-year-old male from Bayswater was clocked travelling at 153 km/h in an 80 km/h speed zone in Wantirna.

The teen's learner permit also meant he was prohibited from riding the high-powered bike he was on.

Leading Senior Constable Mark Dewey was on an unmarked motorbike when he pulled over the rider outside the Knox Shopping Centre complex on Stud Road.

The teen's motorbike was later confiscated under anti-hoon laws.

"This is a bloke that shouldn't be on the road and we've been able to do something about it with the use of the unmarked solo (motorbike)," Leading Senior Constable Dewey said.

"The message to irresponsible drivers is you will never know who we are and where we are."

The teenager will be summonsed at a later date to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates Court.
The greatest pleasure of my recent life has been speed on the road. . . . I lose detail at even moderate speed but gain comprehension. . . . I could write for hours on the lustfulness of moving swiftly.

Buy a used 4WD and run the dirtbag fuckers off the road.

Goddamn, he must've been going hard.
I wonder if it was really high powered... (In comparison)
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

    Can see the headlines now

"Policeman on a GN250 pulls over a learner on an R1 on Aucklands Southern Motorway"

Rider says he is too tall for a 250...forgot to put a learner plate on...heading to university so has to speed on the motoway....whats the speed limit?...registration is for tax payers.

I wonder if it was as high powered as that moped that the cop caused a crash to catch a few months ago..

Would that be the unmarked Police bike, the person breaking the road rules or all bikes just make sure you get them?

Not really, just the old "kill everone" philosophy. It comes from driving a Range Rover (or similar) in Remuerawarararara.

I'm sure I heard a fellow KB'r here in Wellington mention the Police already have them. He was on business in the underground garage at Police HQ in Victoria Street Wgtn and questioned a copper on the two motorcycles parked there. He was adviced these were unmarked Police vehicles.

You mean a used 4WD is quick enough to run a scoot off the road?

NSW HP have had them for ages. I was stopped by a black R1 in the national park one time. That was back in 2000. Saw him behind me for ages, thought he wanted to "race" cos he had that demeanour about him, but no he wanted to stop me..

I like the 'Anti Hoon Law'.....

Pretty much on a par with the 'Anti Troublesome Scallywags' we have here in NZ...

So do they have lights and sirens as well? Otherwise how would they pull someone over?? Would it be entrapment if the undercover bike appeared to be egging you on in a "race"?

What are NZ's laws regarding entrapment anyway?
