From the day that you got done, 28 days later you get a pink one which is a printed one lasting for another 28. So all up like 8 weeks to pay.

interesting note my wife got caught driving on her learners with no full licensed driver. $400.00 fine, she wanted to pay it off but when she went to the court house to sort it out, they said it has to be paid in full otherwise she has to let it go to court and then go back and arrange a payment plan.

stupid system. here's a fine go pay it, hi I'd like to pay my fine, no go away and come back when you have a court summons.

I wonder if westpac would let her pay a portion of the fine.... hmmmm

Add a 2% "convenience" fee though.

How come I don't have to pay that when registering a vehicle on the LTSA website, or paying my power bill, but extra payment for a ticket?

yeah turns out there's no way to pay it in part untill it goes to court.
and even then you have to apply to do it in installments.

wankers, here's a bill, the only bill you will ever get that they will turn down any offer of money except exact payment.

    Aha, I know this.

It's because it's a punishment, and not charging you the credit card fees counts as a reduction of the penalty amount.

Yeah, just wait for the reminder letter 28 days later. Just don't leave it too long. I work with some foolish young guys and they end up with huge fines/court for not paying.
