I read that 10 times over trying to figure out what you're saying. If you're saying this is the shop he bought it it up from, then its not likely because he posted the thread on the 11th.

The listing ends on 9 June, which is 4 weeks from 13 May, which is the maximum length of a bike listing (Hell, I'm pretty sure it's 2 weeks, but just in case I'm wrong, I'm going worst case scenario).

So the bike was listed on trademe 2 days after his bike was stolen. In addition to this, I searched for previous listings of the same bike that have expired without anyone winning / listings that have been withdrawn on trademe, and didn't find squat. Which means this is the FIRST TIME this listing is running.

Stop fucking about, and tell the guy to go get his bike. I'm surprised someone would be sitting on their hands like this, after locating their stolen bike. I for one would be on a plane by now on my way down there.

I apologise if I have any of the facts wrong

Ah, I see, disregard all that I said about the dates, but original point still stands - why hasn't the rightful owner spoken to the shop etc yet? Or has he already and we haven't received any updates?

You got the facts wrong go to the 1st post you will see this started over a year ago when he bought the bike last year round February not long after he was having prob took it to a shop (think it was the one it is now for sale at on TM ) anyway the day after he got it home missing a few bits it was stolen. It has now been listed on TM over a year later spoke to his brother and he said he never got it back so it is still a stolen bike.

    WTF is going on here?

That seems to be almost certainly the bike that was (allegedly) stolen - so why the fuck hasn't it been resolved??

No dealer would be stupid enough to on-sell a bike that they knew to be stolen. Specially withh the distinctive features this still has.

    So WTF is happening??

Once upon a time a policeman would've sorted this.

If it isn't road registered, wouldn't making sure it wasn't stolen be more difficult than just running the plate as you would do with a road registered vehicle?

My point is that - IMO they would not know it was stolen.

But this thing is so fucked up, who really knows??
