Best Rubber?

I know this question is asked alot, But what do people recommend for the best sticky rubber out there? I had a set of Perelli Diablo's on my GSXR and they worked bloody well. I now have an R6 and its almost time for some new rubber! The Pilot sports on it at the moment seem to do the job OK also. Not quite as good as the Diablo's tho.

So before i go out and get another set of Diablo's i thought i would get everyone elses opionion?

Also anyone know where to get them at a good price?? Or just your good old Cycle treads on barrys point road good as any?

i used to run michelin pilot race 2's on my old gsx-r750 , a bit hard to get hold of though ,, also rennsports were good ,, am running dunlop 218's now ,, they are ok ,, just happened to be on the bike when i bought it ,,,

Hey man. I've been using Pirelli Diabs without any majors but have heard great stories about Pilot powers . These will more than likely be the next set I put on. I reckon cycletreads will cut you a good deal. good luck

tried D207s, Pirellis Diablo Corsas and Supercorsas on my GSXR. Don't bother with any 207's, Diablo corsas were really good for me (nearly squashed my leg between fairing and road one day and they still didn't let go so that'll do me!) so I wouldn't hesitate to try them again for quick road riding or track days.
Using supercorsas at the moment because there's quite a lively stock of 2nd hand ones available from the F2 series. They have been raced of course, but at $180 for a pair (fitting extra) with most of the wear at the edges, they're a pretty good deal. I'm running 6psi higher than normal to make them last longer on the road (SC1 grade) and while they're not locking the rear and front down like they normally would, they're certainly good enough for a road hard thrash without disintegrating (although maybe not in peak summer). So value for money, I'd give second hand race tyres a go! (just make sure they're not overly blue and have had the life cooked out of them!)

But if you have lotsa cash for new tyres, it sounds like Sportecs or Roadtecs are worth a go (Motoracer put up a thread on this a few weeks ago and had some good responses)

If it helps, my back one is shot, so I did some calling around.
I've been told by a few people to try to avoid mixin n matchin with front and rear tyres, that you should try to keep the same make, and the same model if poss at both ends.

In light of this, I called around for a rear Battlaxe cos that's what's standard on mine. I've found the exact same tyre on special, along with a few other tyres on special at Rowes, on Rosebank Road in Avondale. They're getting rid of stock 'so they don't have to count it' kind of thing. My Battlaxe 012 is about $50 cheaper than everywhere else I've called, and they have access to quite a few. They had about 6 different rears on the shelf right there, and they seem to get in anything else you want too.

As for my Battlaxes, I've not had too many tyres to compare it to, but I've had a bit of a go at giving it shit, and it takes it. They've even surprised me with it's grip several times, that's why I'm so stoked that I'm getting another one on the back. Had my feet scraping the floor (would be my knee, but no sliders yet) and it still goes some. I'm more than happy with the feedback and confidence mine have given me, but like I said, I haven't had all the experiance in the world..

I'd put my two cents in on pilot powers, i went from sports to powers on the TL, and most know how hard TL's are on tyres and they were shit hot, spesh in wet conditions, loads of grip, heat up time is real quick, alot quicker than say a supercorsa/rennsport type of tyre. But i didn't get a chance to find what sorta mileage you could get outta them, had a wee moment. But i wouldn't blink at putting them on any bike of mine. Any bike that goes that is

Geezz.... 2700km's on my GSX-R600 and shes nearly ready for a new set... and i had to run it in Worst ive ever seen, Loosebruce, 800kms and went through a rear tyre WITHOUT PULLING BURNOUTS...
