Are there any signs say specifically that no bikes are allowed?

No signs at the bridge but it would be foolish to take your bike down there & expect to get it out again.
Find the carpark sign, we went past it on the post CCA ride.

would have been a better idea to tag a more accessible place for all bikes to tag, so this game doesn't come to a a halt again..

if it wasn't for our fellow roadies, game would be still dead in the back pages.....................................

Jees have I made this adventure tag too hard? 20km of winding tarseal, 5 km off road, Ive even seen a 950 there.

Of course first you have to know where it is. Second the weather has to improve.

Third you need a bike to do 5km off road, fourth you need to be that slight bit nuts that keeps us all here

Eugene, I'm not sure where you went today but it was the wrong place mate. Nice day for a ride though. Next time you should take an adventure bike along Odlins Rd

Hey Spacey, try Waiotauru Hut in Goggle Earth. Odlins Rd is an old logging road on the east side of the summit carpark of the Akatarawa Waikanae Rd. Shucks now you have the info but the tag is still safe from the roadster gang

Or try Waiotauru rd as that is the official name of the road that appears on maps, it is also marked as a private rd. Probably odlins were the company that owned it, I can remember driving a month old ford station wagon in to the summit in the mid eighties, plus going in on the back of a truck for a S&R exercise.
