Just to take the joke thread completely off topic lol..

I actually split vote National/ACT, because ACT wernt even in the running in my electorate. I was quite put out when National allied with the maori party though, I wanted ACT to be the kingmaker, because they are the closest thing we have to a rightwing politicial party. National under Key are entirely too centrist for my liking, Brash would have been much better. The lovechild of Margaret Thatcher & Rub Muldoon would be better yet.

Now back to our regularly scheduled hilarity.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

I did the same thing as Lias and we have ended up with a "blue" version of Helen Clark. (seriously dissapointed so far)

Key has handed Rodney the (Auckland Mayoralty) poison challis, damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Auckland is a disfunctional city and has made little progress since Dovemyer Robinson's day!

Sorry Lias you must not have lived under Rob Muldoons rule, he was a rampant socialist, (the worst I have ever seen) Helen Clark modeled herself after him!

Key is the most agreeable prime minister that I have experienced. (he agrees with "everybody if it suits him!"

As for this thread, I think it is bloody funny!

I did but I was just a kid. I know he was a bit of a socialist.. Socialism isnt an inherently bad thing, the state should care for its people, but equally the people should care about the state. The system we live in now is all about gimme gimme society owes me a living airy fairy namby pamby PC bullshit.

For example I'm quite happy to keep the dole, I just think people should work for it after a couple of months. I also believe in a mixed market economy, private enterprise isnt an inherently bad thing, but it is when greed comes before the consumer. The flip side of that is that if the system is entirely state run, it will inevitably fall pray to evils like beauracracy and indiffrence. You need a mix so they keep each other honest.

Agreed but New Zealand leans so far left even ACT barely makes it to the centre!

Appologies for the thread theft here. Moving right (unintentional pun) along now.
