    Brake levers?

Ok, so I bailed and bent it. What is the best solution?

    Bend it back?
    Saw it off?
    New cheap one?
    New expensive double bendy one?
New cheap one and hand gaurdy things?
    Other options.....?

    What say u?

Bend it back with a ring spanner. You can usually get away with it.

Set the bolts on your brake and clutch mounts tight enough so that they don't move when being used, but will move when they hit the ground (if you get my drift). You will brake less levers this way. Always carry spares.

Put plumbers thread tape on the handle bar under the perch, then you can tighten them up and in a crash they still move..................

Get yourself set of short Pazzo levers. These won't break when you bin the bike.

Failing that, as has already been suggested - do what plumbers do to bend pipes safely. I have seen some incredibly strong results with broken ones after being glued.

ASV levers, not cheap but guaranteed repair or replacement if you bend or break within the warranty period. There's 1, 3 or 5 year warrantied ones, priced accordingly. There's road bike ones now too

ASV Leavers... on my third set bars, after bending them all badly. Ill switch back to the standard ones, when i go to sell the bike and put them on the next bike, one day

depending how bent it is- keep it as a spare - a bent lever is better than no lever, buy another standard one i reckon - when was the last time you replaced it? - this should give you an indication of what kind you need

Cheers. I think I'll just get a cheap set as spares and keep them nice and loose. I think it was already loose but yeah. I'll try cheap once more then go for the double hinge bendy dulux pivots.

Ok. got a new set for $30 on tme. Then...went and bent the new one back. Suppose I have spares now. Perhaps I should take the used to be bent one off cos it will break easier now?!?

You'd be better off spending the time making sure the brake and clutch purches are set at the right tension. Keep them loose enough to not move while riding, but can move if you drop it.

Yeah, I made some adjustments when I bent the leaver back. The clutch was perfect, but the break one was way too tight. Hopefully its ok now. Only one way to find out...
