    Question 500 two-strokes and trail-rides?

Been out of the loop for a year or two, got a big Green bike thats been hibernating for a while, time to get back on the track ...a Trail Ride is on the agenda.

How many KX and CR 500 riders are there still doing the business ??

    Or...am I an orphan now....?

i havnt seen any out on trails in a while.... not to say theyre not out there.

even seeing 2 strokes out on trails is getting rare now.

i did another trail today on a 4t, i still dont like them.

Not quite a 500, up till a few years ago I used to take my IT400 on trail riders - used to get some funny looks and comments about its drum brakes and so on, but there were time when it left the modern stuff behind. And it always got me home.
    Wish I still had it.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

I've got a mate in Hamilton that regularly trail rides a KX500, and you do see a few of them and CR500's around, so not so rare as you'd think.
I've even seen quite a few CR500 engined ali frame CR250 conversions popping up too.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

Some dude passed me on his cr500's rear wheel and carried on going like that for about a kilometer on a forest track in the kaingaroa forest.
In fifth gear tapped out.Was well impressive to watch.
I wish Id had a helmet cam.
