I've seen those helmets at 1Tonne when I was buying some trou recently. They look quite good. They meet our NZ safety standard, and I would say they are good for the money. Ask him. He's on the site. http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php?u=16098

Another good cheapy I have found is the FFM helmets. I have got a Tour pro 2. I use it as my second helmet and for commuting. Hasn't got a sun visor though. Most helmets that have a second visor are a lot dearer than the models sold by 1Tonne.
Another option .... that I am using, is to use a tinted visor. I have them on both my helmets now and find them to be really good. Not at night obviously ... but great during the day .... even in wet weather .... no problems.
Good luck with your choice. 1Tonne does have good gear in my experience.
My step son has the basic black helmet without any visor, and finds the helmet to be really good.

Whilst it appears they offer good value for the money, things that pop into my mind are that a) there is a cost to building a good helmet, cheap ones make me nervous b) spares availability, this is a no-name helmet most likely made in China and branded for 1-Tonne - I just wonder if they'll be around in a few years and what the availability of visors etc would be like?
Not knocking them otherwise as they are ECE22/05 so shouldn't be a bad lid all things considered. Just thinking aloud on the other points.
Personally I'd rather trust my head and safety to a known and proven brand with good back up, bit like the old Bell ad "$10 head? $10 helmet...."
Each to his own though, just my 2c

I recently purchased a new helmet.
I was deciding between 2 models that both had dual visor.

I ended up getting a Nolan model, because it fit a little better. It was also cheaper being an end of stock model.

The other helmet I was considering was a LS2, which looks very similar in design to the 1-Tonne model you've linked to.
In a way I wished that the LS2 had fitted better. The Nolan has the visor on the outside, meaning you can only use it with the face fully closed up.
When not in use (night riding etc) it also creates a wind whistle, although I guess I could detatch it completely.
The LS2 model was $399 though...so might be a bit higher quality?

I have a ls2 flip front with internal visor(was only $240), not impressed with it.

Very noisy, would need to wear ear plugs for a long trip..(can't stand em on the bike myself, have to wear em at work for 12 hours)
    Fogs up alot,
sun visor doesn't slide all the way in when closed, leaving an
anoying bit at the top.may be ok on a more up right bike, but not on the R1
Must only have one shell size as the medium ,large and xtra large are tight to get on.Need to open flip front to get on easily.

I end up wearing my old Hjc more often...bummer as the Ls2 was supposed
    to be its replacement.

I would pay a bit more and get a HJC or Nolan....but not as much as a Shuberth.

I have an HJC FS-10 which has the same system. It was about $500 18 months ago from memory.

Its abit of a gimmic, I dont regret buying it but my next one wont have it. Maybe other brands are better but I find the tinted part isnt dark enough (its better than nothing but nothing like a pair of sunglasses) and that it dont come down far enough meaning your always looking at the bottom edge of it rather than completley through it.

Ive never had any trouble with it fogging up, though I dont use the tinted bit that often and the main visor didnt fog up at all when I first bought it so maybe its the same issue with the tinted bit.

As to noise, it blocks out more general noise (eg stopped at traffic lights) but it has more wind noise than my previous cheapie FFM.

    I got a Givi H401 almost a year ago.
Compared it with the Nolan and HJC models with sunvisors and liked it more.
Appears the price has gone up a lot since I got mine.
Think I paid $550 for it and they are now listed at $700

The visor works really well. I find the tint is dark enough and it comes far enough down.
On the other brands the tint was too light and / or the visor cut across my field of vision.

Pitty they are so expensive now. It's really handy being able to flip the visor up or down - wouldn't go back to a normal helmet for day to day use.

I've been using a Caberge V2 which I imported from the UK a couple of year ago. Love it. So comfortable and the internal visor is dark enough for most occasions. Rumour has it there is a local importer in NZ now so they are really worth checking out :

I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Second that. One of motorcyclings best kept secrets.
Very comfortable, easy to clean (inners all removeable etc) , top quality paintwork i.e. durable, chip resistant.
I've heard the same rumour Hawkeye. Probably from the same Guy!
I emailed caberg@xtra.co.nz for replacement visor and someone replied that a shipment is due in 8 weeks. Whoever he is needs to get a website up.

    Sharp ratings? Phooey

But Caberg's do have a good name and are ECE22/05 approved, good enough for me.

Forgot to mention. I've tried other dual visors and the common design fault is the shape of the inner dark visor. It either doesn't come down far enough, causing the edge to be in your line of sight. Or it doesn't retract out of sight.
The Cabbage is spot on, the bottom edge is curved around your cheeks & nose etc, to fit your face. Some helmets had a straight line left to right?? What sort of head did they design that on?

I've also got an Airoh TR1 but that's a bit noisy and uncomfortable. Still a cool lid though. The Airoh's inner is very dark. Good lid for summer.
