    What WAS he doing?

Rode Arapuni Road this morning...nice sweepie corner sort of road that I know quite well.
Came around a slightly down hill LH bend which leads into a downhill straight of several hundred metres, thence into a right hander. Nothing sharp about either corner.
As I rounded the LH'er, there coming towards me, on MY side of the road, was a bloody great Osbournes Transport truck. He was well clear of his corner and he looked like he had no intention of moving back to his side of the road initially, but he did move over - just after I shit my pants...(figuratively only, unlike our mate Max!).
As we passed I raised my left hand in the WTF? fashion - no move from the driver...
What WAS he doing (apart from scaring me...) ?

I have encountered a Fontera tanker like that, it's like they just don't care - you don't want to get hit, get out of MY way"
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

Same thing happened to me. Twice. One on a (my) right-hand corner, him drifting wide well into my lane, once on a 2km long straight road.

Not very amusing at the time, and clearly they had absolutely no intention of moving over. I felt pretty angry about it later on, especially with my 14 y/o daughter on the back. Full eye contact throughout.

You got the companies number?? time and date etc etc? If I was you I would ask for an explanation or, else make a complaint. That kind of behaviour gets people killed. Thank god you weren't going hell for leather through that corner mate.

The thing that got me was that this truck was well clear of his corner when I saw him - he certainly wasn't drifting wide through the corner - he just wasn't even trying to move back to his side of the road - just truckin' along on my side...until he saw me.
And yes, Mattian, I know the company (based in Te Awamutu) and I will indeed phone them tomorrow.

Eh? He moved back IN? Geez the bastard didn't for me. There was about 1/3 of the outside of my right-hander left when he was finished with it. Lucky for me I was just touring at the time, and a nasty little lesson also.
