ok, so I figure you're either Steve Austin or Mr Potatohead in real life right?
p/t hope you heal quickly.

New shoulder - is it a complete shoulder replacement? is it the normal one where they put a ball on the end of your humerus and a cup at your shoulder, or a reverse one where the cup gets put on your humerus and the ball on your shoulder.
Was it elective or result of an accident?
Did you tear any of the rotator cuff (if it was an accident)
What part of your bike was this all fitted to? and does it go faster
i had a Kitesurfing Acciedent 6 year ago where I broke the ball off. when it reconnected apparently the blood vessels didt connect properly and a heap of bone died. Now they just ground off the ball a bit and put a stell cap on it, apparently to do this they cut the tendon which has to heal and the mussel.
i iwll have to have a complete replacment but jsut trying to add to my age a bit first as a bit young they reckon to start fitting whole joints now (only lasting about 8 years and only able to have 2 of them)
Okay, probably biceps tendon? LIkely they also had to pull away the rotator cuff then, has the surgeon not given you any exercises? Do you know if they tightened the capsule while they were in there?what kind of active (you do it) or passive (moved while arm is relaxed) do you get with it?
bugger all, at the moment have to hang arm down and move it in circles while leaning over, not allowed to use the mussel for anything.
dont know what else was done while i was out
yep bicep is a bit sore and all brused
doctor has told ACC 4 months off work but i think that cant be right, i am back on monday for more xrays and back to the surgeon.
Yeahup pendulum exercises are the norm, I know it seems like 4 months is a hell of a long time, but it's gotta be done mate. you'll be able to use it before then, but gotta gradually strengthen it up. I'd have to see the surgeons notes before fully prescribing a programme, so don't take my word completely (every surgeon does their own thing, they know exactly what it can and can't do from how they did the op). pendulum exercises are usually the way to go for about 6 weeks, probably in a sling? keep moving the hand and wrist around heaps though.
From 2 weeks post op you are likely to be onto passively (using other arm or another person to do it for you) lifting arm up (not into pain though), and into external rotation (if elbow is bent 90 degrees, forarm swings round to the right.) theeres heaps more, but I reckon give the surgeon his 2 cents, ask him about a week by week strengthening plan, or if that fails (or if the surgeon doesn't say anything new to do), a physio.
Cheers
Holy shit mate that sounds fricken awful. Take it easy and I hope you get healed up well.
let us know what the surgeon says - I'd be interested - never rehab'd a shoulder replacement + biceps tendon tear before :-)
