    Number plate position?

I've noticed number (registration) plates on various bikes positioned at 45 degrees or more to the vertical. In other words, they follow the slope of the rear guard or even more, and point towards the sky.

Is this a crafty way of making them difficult to read by cameras and our hard-pressed constabulary??

    No no no no no...yes
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Thought about trying to hinge and then hook up a soleniod to flick the plate up when required...Just for fun sakes

you may get away with a hinge that allows a plate buried in front of the rear wheel to move with the swingarm,

but methinks the cops will smell a rat if there'a an actuator present - no doubt someone can cite the exact charges that would attract ???

Yes, it often is for that, I used to hate the way plates stuck out from the bike, ruined its lines. I had an adjustable mount, but had to be manually adjusted. Still readable, but its a great way to make a cop want to continuing chatting to you.

I do not care about the licenseplate, we are realy happy here in NZ. Have you ever seen a cake-tray ( licenseplate) in germany?
I like riding these cold days, there is nobody on the road.

Remove the plate. How long could you ride before someone noticed? I am guessing at least a year.
    Here for the ride.

You need a two way throttle with twin cables so the plate returns to its original position completely so if you do get pulled up it all looks 100%
