Well Sadly a biker here last his life on Monday morrning at 8.20am in Taranaki . about 5k from where I live . Police say that The rider was riding in a group and believe he was blinded by the Sun as entering a corner & crashed of the road . I know I & other's on here would have had some scary Sun moment's all so just beware when out & about in the morrning's & evening's

Thats really sad to hear that.... RIP...

What I have done is put black tape across the top of my visor...
so when I get sunstrike... I have the visor right down and tilt the helmet down a bit... that does help alot.

    Not good.

Can understand how it could have happened. I get very sensitive to dazzle - sunlight, oncoming headlights - and I can well appreciate how sodding difficult it is to know where on the road you are, how easy it would be to miss a turn or cross into oncoming traffic.

Condolences to anyone who knew the biker.

Too many bikes going down. I experienced that on the motorway going in to Auckland last year when we came up to see a show. Late afternoon and sun was low. The visor had bugs from the 4 and a half hours on the road. Very unpleasant for someone who knows nothing of the roads up there. Again thinking of the family and friends.

Condolences to the family and friends. Sun strike is scary thing to experience... While in SA, I was driving (cage) with a friend and we hit horrendous sunstrike and veered of the road, bursting both tyres on the left side of the car. Oh, luckily we didn't go over the cliff, those tyre eating jagged rockes stopped us just before.
