Just wondering if there are any XSR 700 owners here? Curious about whats your experience has been, tips / tricks / mods / sources for stuff.
I know the looks might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am sure there are some here who appreciate them.

Hey there.
Wanting to trade your stock rearsets for adjustable?
MT 07s are the same as XSR700s (At least the rear sets are anyway)
They do share a lot of the parts. I am actually ok with the factory ones for now. Sitting position is different, which is why I don't have issues with them.

Looks like I am the only one prepared to admit to owning one of these.

They aren't exactly common. There's an XSR parks not far from where I live but I thought it was an 800. Next time I see it I'll count the exhaust pipes.
There is a grey blur, and a green blur. I try to stay on the grey one. - Joey Dunlop
The reason I bought it is because they are not common. No worries. I'll just put here what my experience is with it.
XSRs only come as XSR900 (3 pipes) or XSR700 (2 pipes).

I have an MT 07 HO and I love it, but I will admit, I would have bought the XSR700 over the 07 in a heartbeat if it came in the HO version (Non lams) as I think it looks awesome (The perfect blend of retro and modern).
I'm on learner's/restricted as a new rider, so this suits me fine. I can imagine how much more fun would be with full power.
I've started riding a little later in my life and find the style of bike is more me than a sports bike would've been.

The XSR series bikes are tits, so much bike for the money, and such great engines.
You should look into modifying it for full power when you're ready - my understanding is the differences are a slightly smaller bore, early throttle stop and ECU. The first one can't be fixed (but is insignificant), the throttle stop should be easily corrected, and the ECU might be able to be flashed, otherwise you could get a PCV I guess?
I've thought about modifying it when I'm on full license. But then perhaps I could sell it as LAMS, and upgrade to XSR900. Hmmm. Thats a good couple of years though.

Stopped by the dealer as I thought chain was a little noisy. Turns out it streched, like most new chains, abd was sloppy with just 400kms. All fixed for now.
Turned over 2,200 kms today. Bike's been a lot of fun. I can't say the same for some of the drivers I have come across commuting in Auckland CBD. But I knew that getting in.

Ticked over 3,500 kms today. Predominantly commuting without getting on the motorway 'cause its much shorter distance and less traffic that way.
Just ordered mine today. Picking it up next week. Already looking at options. Single seat, Luggage rack, rear sets. The yamaha site has photos of the parts but not on a bike. Any ideas where I might find some ?
